Application of Load Bank
A load bank (also known as a load box) primarily functions to simulate the actual operating loads of various equipment, thereby testing the performance and reliability of power supply or power equipment. Its main applications are as follows:
1. Generator testing: Conduct load testing on diesel generators, gas generators, etc., to verify their output stability, overload capacity, and continuous operation reliability under different loads (e.g., 50%, 80%, 100% rated load), avoiding performance risks caused by "no-load operation" of the equipment.
2. UPS system verification: Used for capacity testing and switching performance testing of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). It simulates the actual power consumption of loads during power outages, ensuring the UPS can supply power stably within the preset time and safeguarding the safety of critical loads such as servers and medical equipment.
3. New energy storage testing: In systems such as photovoltaic energy storage and energy storage power stations, it simulates the charging and discharging loads of energy storage batteries to test the battery pack's capacity, charging and discharging efficiency, and cycle life. It also verifies the output adaptability of energy storage inverters.
4. Industrial equipment commissioning: For industrial power equipment such as motors and frequency converters, it simulates the load conditions during their actual operation, assists in debugging equipment parameters, and ensures the efficiency and safety of the equipment when operating under rated loads.
